It all started with a woeful Chinese takeaway.

Rewind back to 2011, when I was studying abroad in the UK. I was halfway through a heat-and-eat microwave chicken chow mein when I thought to myself, “I could literally make a better one than this.”

A quick online recipe search and another trip back to the supermarket later, I did manage to muster a more edible chow mein, which led to what was back then a seminal notion for me: I can cook decent meals for myself. The days of living on £5 Subway footlong deals were long gone.

As an ordinary twenty-something male with no formal culinary training whatsoever, I’ve created this blog to show other ordinary twenty-something males that they too can cook for themselves. Hopefully I can inspire you in the same way a lousy Chinese dish did for me.
